about us

Kappa Phi Lambda Sorority, Inc. is a nonprofit, Asian-interest sorority that was founded on March 9, 1995 at SUNY Binghamton in Binghamton, New York. Our sorority was conceived through the notion of an organization that would provide a culturally sound and educationally inspiring grounding for Asian-American women. our pillars

Our sisterhood is stronger than the diamond that represents us. It is not merely a word, but a relationship based on friendship, respect, and shared values. This relationship goes beyond university and is a support system that last a lifetime. As sisters of Kappa Phi Lambda, we acknowledge and embrace each other regardless of our differences. We are proud to have such a diverse sisterhood, where we are able to learn from other and share our experiences and cultures.

As an organization and individuals, we take pride in serving our community. We are collectively dedicated to supporting those in need, especially women, children, and the queer community. Through volunteering, fundraising, and supporting our local and national philanthropies (Greater Dayton LGBT Center and CARE respectively), we strive turn our passion into action. Our first merchandise sale as an Associate Chapter has 80% of the proceeds going to our local and national philanthropy.

As an organization we are Asian interest, but not Asian exclusive. Our sisters come from many different cultures and backgrounds; thus we aim to uphold the importance of understanding all cultures, empowering our sisters, and enhancing our appreciation and knowledge as individuals and an organization. By educating our community on Pan-Asian culture and spreading cultural awareness, we strive to create a safe, welcoming environment for all.

Wright State University’s Associate Chapter began as the interest group ACE - Advocates for Cultural-diversity and Excellence. Inspired by the community and passion of Kappa Phi Lambda’s Omicron Chapter at The Ohio State University, ACE wanted to bring that same sense of sisterhood to Wright State. They resonated with Kappa Phi Lambda’s pillars of sisterhood, service, and cultural diversity. These pillars, paired with the need to bring more diversity to Wright State’s Greek life, led a group of women to found ACE in 2019. They strove to bring the first multicultural sorority onto their campus, hoping to create a welcoming space for individuals of all cultures and backgrounds. After four years, the nine Ceaseless Charters finally chartered on April 1, 2022. It is now the goal of the Wright State University Associate Chapter to uphold the pillars of sisterhood, service, and cultural diversity while continuing to empower and support their sxsters and community.
